Double Decker Shop

Would you get onto a BUS and start shopping ?? Or should I ask you the other way around, Would you shop in a double decker BUS ??? Either way - this whacky idea is from a shop in Seattle. Trust the world for coming up with crazy ideas.

Grey on my Mind

It’s either BLACK or WHITE for me all the way !! I am straightforward and sometimes to Grey lovers I can be annoying. I like this certain. I have never been a fan of something in-between. I bet on things I am sure off. I push myself to things I am unsure of – I also know when to quit and say – ITS DONE ! I’m FINISHED… ! I’ve been in the grey area with a friend for the last couple of months. We try – and I’ve been there long enough. One would think its about time I start liking the whole scenario. But no ! Not liking GREY is in my character… and for as much as I try – I don’t think I can ever like this uncertain colour.
But for those of you who do like the colour Grey – or are enjoying something in-between, waiting your time out, waiting for a possibility, for a ray of hope – enjoy the dull shoddy colour in some amazing design, interiors and art deco …!

Girls in Greens !!

When I was young my mum chose all colours and made me wear them. I bet she did not like leafy parrots and bottle Greens - and so I was always Green Shy ! As I grew up - I made myself to believe that Green is not my thing. So my friend Siddhi and I went for some street shopping - and all I could see around me is GREENS... Really GREEN !! I said when she pointed out this green T-Shirt. I did not even dare to dry. And of course never say never I say -- the more I ran away from GREEN the more it came and BIT ME... and So - I am putting it out of you guys... Do you think GREEN would look good on me ??

1 Million Copies and a Million Dollar Home

So, today is the photo-shoot for INC Magazine – this means I’m going to check out one of the things off my list to do before I die ! It is nothing major – I’m going to be featured as a Case Study. Basically telling the world – everyone sees failure – but it is how you react to it is going to determine how your success is going to look like. More on it when it actually comes out in May Issue. Book your copies peeps !

Anyhow – I cant wait to be a celebrity – of course for all the good reason. I wish to be known for some charity work, I wish to be known for my art gallery – which is still in my head. I wish to be known as a writer who sold 1 million copies for the book which is in making. I wish to be known for the girl who lost amazing amount of weight !!! GOSH – there are tons of things I would be wanted to known for… !!

So can’t wait for a Fairy Tale Publisher to come my way and sign me up for a 3 book deal. I cant wait for people to wait in line on the release date of my book. Can’t wait to tour around small cozy book stores and do a reading, at the end of which there will be people waiting in line to get a signed copy !!! AHH STARDOM – Come out of hiding.

Once I do become famous – I’m going to call singer Sheryl Crow and ask her if she wants to sell me her beautiful backyard… !!! Take a sneak Peak peeps.

Orange Ricotta Pancake Delights !

Orange Ricotta Pancakes with Ricotta Topping and Orange Syrup
(adapted from Food & Wine recipe, July 2010)

Orange Syrup
1 orange
1 cup fresh orange juice
1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Ricotta Topping
1 1/2 cups fresh ricotta
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
seeds from 1/2 vanilla bean

Pancakes
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups buttermilk
2 large eggs
1/2 cup fresh ricotta
butter or vegetable oil, for frying

1. For the Syrup: Peel the zest from the orange in small strips (or julienne larger pieces); place in pot of boiling water and blanch for 30 seconds then remove. In a small saucepan set over medium low heat, add orange juice, sugar, and water. Simmer until syrupy, 10 minutes. Let cool and add orange slices and zest.
2. For the Ricotta topping: Scrape the seeds from the vanilla bean into the ricotta. Add sugar, and mix.
3. For the Pancakes: In a medium bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. In a large bowl, whisk the buttermilk, eggs, and ricotta. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and fold batter together. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Then add 1/4-cup dollops of the batter to the pan. Cook about 2 minutes per side — use your best judgment; these should be golden brown. Serve and allow your guests to top the warm pancakes with the ricotta topping and orange syrup.

The Love Stairway

My close friend Raghuvir has found his love Stairway... Each one of us finds it in our heart to climb these difficult stairways -- to see a relationship grow. You always want these stairways to take you to a higher place - to a better space. Where nothing or no one can touch your relationship. I am not a pessimist. But I am yet to find my stairway -- that looks like this. To climb with Mr Charming - someone who will find pleasure in loosing against me in a game of choppat... Someone who I would want to loose my everything for. I am a romantic from within. Someone who will be able to see this. Someone who will know that behind all my toughness is that person who loves to be cared for. That someone will also have my 100 percent... Are you the one ? Will you come find me please ?

Baby Crib

There is nothing more joyous than a birth in the family... ! When I was young I spent a lot of time in a crib. And then my younger sister was born, and then the 2 younger brothers -- ours was a big family, since I lived with my uncle and his family. We were together 5. But I think I have enjoyed sleeping in the CRIB for as long as i can remember. Each time a baby was taken out of it - I would jump into it and make the most use of it. I curled up and slept like a baby !!

And then a couple of days ago , my nephew PRITHVI DOSHI was born. And to see the little one, curled up and sleeping in his brand new crib... reminds me of the old times. ALAS - Disha Doshi wont fit into his CRIB anymore. When I went online to see different CRIB's , here is one I came across - FUTURISTIC !!! This is where the little ones first learn to taste art noveau I believe !!

Biker Babe.. Do you trust them ?

Things Upside Down

Childhood Sweethearts ... a Mystery !

This Blog can be about you, this blog can be of any other Indian girl or boy waiting to get married. When I was younger I was convinced I would marry the boy who I was sitting to in Junior KG.. He was sweet, and he let me finish his energy milk bottle in the break. Then the hormones grew and I guess he understood a little bit about short skirts and I understood a little bit about Naught boys and then I left the idea.

Somewhere Grade 6 or 7 started the obsession for the hottest boy / girl. and so, even though there is nothign attractive about you - you believe in fairytale - you believe you are the cinderella or you are the beast of beauty and the beast and your time will come -- only to find our you ran out of time.

Only to find out you are thrown out of the cucoon you had been living in and are now in Junior College !!! You make desperate attempts to change the image you have been typecasted into - and then you try to find someone. Only to find that the other person is not really a person - but just a facade. Inside he or she is also trying desperately to be someone else. A someone he or she is running away from !!!

And then comes university. Where you try to drill it into you brains that it is not all about the good looks or the great body. It is about the heart ! And then you realise - your heart makes compromises it never should - in matters of love. And the other heart you are seeking is also makign constantly these compromises -- !! Which sucks. Cause now - you are so used to being another person - that one day your bubble breaks and you realise this is IT. I cannot be another person.

By then you are stuck in a 10 x 10 office space, making tons of money, being featured in a business magazine, speaking at conventions - only to be Alone at night - with no sweet nothings , and those amazing silences where you understand what he is sayign and he understands what you are saying only by a small touch, or a gentle kiss... !!

So now - you, THE WORLD, and everybody out there reading - tell me... how does this work ?? How do childhood sweethearts sail through this rock path called changing life .. !! Or has the world changed so much that Childhood Sweetheart as a concept does not exist now ??

Cuba

So last night right before sleeping, I was reading a blog about a love story based in the war stricken times of Che Guevara. and like all other times I have read something prolific, i started dreaming of Cuba. This morning i got into office and the routine involved googling things that I pictured and finding some meaning or some connections and thereby understanding my sub-conscience. little did i know i would come across these lovely pictures... and you have to see them !! Absolutely stunning, Cuba and its soft undertones. Enjoy them.
