5 WINE BOTTLE DIYS

winebottleprojects
I don’t know about you, but I always feel a little twinge of guilt when a wine bottle ends up in the recycling bin. It just seems like I should be finding a way to reuse such a functional object. And now that’s we’re fully into rosé season, I have a few more bottles than usual. Here are some of my favorite projects that use wine bottles as the core material. A few of these projects suggest a wine bottle cutting kit like this one (see Make’s How-to Video here) and if you decide to invest, you can turn all your bottles into something new for your home. Now, that my guilt is assuaged, I’ll take another glass of rosé!

New Year of the Trees

How did I not know about this lovely little Jewish holiday? It's called Tu Bishvat, or New Year of the Trees. On January 25-26, it's tradition to eat 15 kinds of fruits and nuts with 4 glasses of wine while reciting blessings to bring the world closer to spiritual perfection. Then you plant a tree! My kind of celebration.

Erin of Forest Feast toasted the trees' new year with Feast wine and spiced apricots in dark chocolate.

Wine Chiller Table

If you have known me for DONKEYs years... you would know what my FAVOURITE cuisine is... For if I have not yet made it that obvious it is ITALIAN... That with a glass of chilled white wine on the outdoor patio of a Winery in the South of France is what my dream holiday comprises of. Of course with a new wine world in emerging Australia, South Africa and California.. with similar sunshine + Breeze Condition.. they can also easily become my DREAM Holiday Locales !!!
And so, on a hot summery afternoon when i am trying to finish off all the work load and I come across this wine Chiller Table - i am quite easily transported to my 7th heaven. Ofcourse I now have Kunal Shah to share this dream with.. Only problem is that Mr Shah hates sunshine... and fancies the COLD and the Mountains !!! I can see how our vacation sweet spots are going to always vary depending on who gets the upper hand in deciding holiday destinations ; )

Wine Bottle Chandelier

This wine bottle chandelier both excites and scares me. It looks very heavy. What if it falls down? But it definitely adds a touch of whimsy to a minimalist space, don't you think?
